What We Believe

Our core beliefs and foundational principles

The Bible

The sole basis of our belief is the Bible, composed of the 66 books of the Old and New Testament. We believe that Scripture in its entirety originated with God and is the unique, full, and final authority on all matters of faith and practice.

God

We believe that there is one true, holy God who is eternal, all-loving, all-knowing, and all-powerful. God exists in three persons – Father, Son and Holy Spirit – each possessing equally all the attributes of deity.

Jesus Christ

Jesus Christ is the Son of God, 100% God in every way. By a miraculous conception and virgin birth he became a man and lived a life of perfect obedience to God. He sacrificed his life for the sins of all mankind by dying on the cross as our substitute.

Salvation

God offers forgiveness through the sacrifice of his Son, Jesus Christ. We accept this offer by faith, repentance, confession, and obedience. This restores the relationship broken by sin and brings eternal life.

Baptism

Baptism is a decision made by believers to express their faith in Jesus. Following the practice in the Bible, we baptize adults and children old enough to make this decision for themselves by immersion.

The Holy Spirit

At the point of salvation, God sends the Holy Spirit to live within all believers and guide them in knowing and understanding the will of God. The Spirit empowers believers with gifts for building up the church.

The Church

The church is the fellowship and family of believers, called the body of Christ. Believers gather together for encouragement, fellowship, worship, prayer, teaching of the Word, and Communion.
